Privacy
Effective 6 November 2026
The short version
Oth™ is in testing and launches soon. Until then, this policy covers the test app and the waitlist.
Your Oths stay on your iPhone. We never receive them. Signing in is optional. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data.
What stays on your iPhone
Your Oths (titles, notes, times, repeats, lists), Recently Deleted Oths for 30 days, your settings, and the name and photo you add to your profile. Your Home Screen widgets read them on the same iPhone. We can’t see any of it.
When you type an Oth
Oth™ works out the date, time and repeat on your iPhone. Your words never leave it.
Siri
If you use Siri with Oth™, Apple processes what you say under Apple’s privacy policy. Nothing you say to Siri is sent to us.
Signing in (optional)
- You can sign in with Apple or Google, or choose Not now and use Oth™ fully, including buying Oth™ Pro, without signing in.
- Signing in gives Oth™ your name, email address and an account identifier, so your profile shows who you’re signed in as. They stay on your iPhone. We don’t receive them on any server, and we never email you because of them.
- With Apple, you can choose Hide My Email, and Oth™ then gets a private relay address instead.
- Sign in with Google opens Google’s own sign-in page in a secure Apple window. What you enter there goes to Google, under Google’s privacy policy, not to us. Apple and Google know you’ve signed in to Oth™.
- You can remove Oth™’s access anytime in your Apple Account or Google Account settings.
iCloud Sync (coming soon)
iCloud Sync for Oth™ Pro isn’t switched on yet, so your Oths are kept only on your iPhone. When it’s switched on, they’ll also be kept in your own private iCloud, which only you can access, and we’ll update this policy first.
Notifications
Your iPhone schedules and delivers your reminders. Nothing passes through us. A reminder’s title can show on your Lock Screen, depending on your notification settings.
Photos
You pick a profile photo with Apple’s photo picker. Oth™ only gets the photo you choose, never your library.
Oth Pro and payments
Apple handles payments, renewals and refunds. We never see your card or Apple Account details. Apple tells Oth™ only whether your subscription is active, and gives us sales reports without your personal details.
Backups
If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup, iOS includes Oth™ in your own backup, under Apple’s terms.
App Store statistics
If you choose to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us totals such as installs and crashes, without your identity.
The waitlist
If you joined it on oth.today, we keep your email address, when you signed up and confirmed, and which version of the sign-up wording you saw. It’s stored with Upstash, a database service, in a store set up through Vercel. We use it only to tell you about Oth™’s launch, and delete it after that, or sooner if you unsubscribe or ask. The waitlist is for people aged 18 or over.
This website
oth.today is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. Cloudflare keeps its network logs only as long as it needs them for that, under its own policy, and publishes no fixed period. We don’t switch on Cloudflare’s request logs or analytics. We don’t use cookies, analytics, ads or tracking. After you join the waitlist, the site saves one small note in your own browser (local storage), so it shows “You’re on the list” when you come back. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
When you delete your account
If you signed in with Apple, Oth™ asks you to confirm with Apple once more, then sends a one-time code to a small service on oth.today. That service uses it to tell Apple to end Oth™’s access to your Apple sign-in, straight away. It stores nothing and doesn’t log the code. We don’t keep a log of the request. Our host, Cloudflare, handles it (including your IP address) to deliver it, and keeps network logs only as long as it needs them for security. Google sign-in is ended directly from your iPhone.
When you email us
If you write to hello@, privacy@, legal@ or security@oth.today, we use your address and message only to reply. They’re kept in our Google Workspace mailbox for up to 12 months, unless the law requires longer.
Why we’re allowed to (legal bases)
- Waitlist: your consent, which you can withdraw anytime.
- Emails: our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Website and delete-service logs: our legitimate interest in keeping them secure and working.
- Sign-in and deleting your account: to provide what you asked for.
- In-app data: it stays with you on your iPhone, so we don’t process it.
Who else is involved
- Apple: App Store, payments, iCloud, Siri, Sign in with Apple
- Google: Sign in with Google, and our email through Google Workspace
- Cloudflare: website hosting and the delete service
- Upstash: waitlist storage (set up through Vercel)
Some of them store data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We don’t share data with anyone else.
Deleting your data and account
- In Oth™: Settings › Personal Data & Privacy › Delete account erases everything Oth™ keeps on your iPhone (including Recently Deleted, scheduled reminders and widget copies), and ends Oth™’s Apple or Google sign-in.
- Copies inside your own iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer) aren’t erased by Oth™. They age out as you make new backups.
- It doesn’t cancel Oth™ Pro. Oth™ reminds you first and links to your subscription.
- Deleting the app also removes everything from your iPhone.
- For the waitlist or emails, write to privacy@oth.today.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to withdraw consent. Write to privacy@oth.today. We acknowledge within 48 hours and reply within 30 days. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority.
Where you live
- European Union and UK: we’re the controller of the waitlist, website and email data. You can complain to your national data protection authority, or in the UK to the ICO. Please write to us first so we can put it right.
- India: our grievance contact is Muhammed Jouher Kuttiyil, privacy@oth.today. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month. You can nominate someone to exercise your rights for you. Once the Data Protection Board of India is set up, you can complain to it after writing to us.
- United States: we don’t sell or share personal information, or use it for targeted advertising, as California and other state laws define them. Oth™ isn’t directed at children under 13.
- Brazil, Japan, Korea, Canada (including Quebec) and elsewhere: the same rights apply. Our privacy contact is privacy@oth.today.
Children
Oth™ isn’t made for children, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us data, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone’s file protection. Keep a passcode on your iPhone. Report a security issue to security@oth.today. If a breach ever affects data we hold, we’ll tell the people affected and the authorities, as the law requires.
Who we are
Oth™ is made by Muhammed Jouher Kuttiyil (“we”). For anything about privacy, write to privacy@oth.today.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. For important changes, we’ll tell you in the app before they apply.
